GROUP VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Are you a group looking for a way to raise extra dollars? The COMMUNITYGIVES YOUTH SERVICE PROGRAM through the Midland Area Community Foundation has such an opportunity!

This is a competitive opportunity for school-aged youths’ sports teams, extra-curricular groups, and service clubs in Midland County to earn funding for priority projects through volunteerism. This is accomplished through the giving of grants to K-12 aged groups that complete a pre-approved community volunteer activity and meet grant requirements. Grants are up to $1,000.

SPIRIT STATION

The Dow RunWalk offers something for everyone! Currently recruiting 5 of the most spirited school cheer squads, dance teams, pep bands, other school/alumni and non-profit groups to compete in the Spirit Station Competition.

Be an integral part of assisting race participants in their quest for the finish line through upbeat music, routines, signs and themes. Groups have a chance to win the "Golden Shoe Award" from votes by participants. Locations along the race route will be assigned along with more information as applications are received.

If selected, your group will be assigned a station along the 6.2 mile race course. You are encouraged to bring as many people and provide as much music, props, etc….to provide the motivation and excitement necessary to be selected by participants as the top group to win the “Golden Shoe Award”.

WATER / AID STATION

Interested in staffing an aid station at the Dow RunWalk, but would like more information before completing the form? Please contact Kari Wedge, Race Crew Coordinator, via email at kwedge@greatermidland.org.

Dow RunWalk has 3 water/aid station opportunities in locations on the racecourse staffed by volunteer groups. Aid stations provide water, sports drink and other refreshments to participants and duties include setting up tables, pouring water and sports drinks in cups, and cleanup.

Be part of the fun, staff, and aid station! Get your business, non-profit, church group, club, athletic team or squad recognized while you support participants at the Dow RunWalk. Aid Station partners were selected through an application process and placed in the area of need along the course based on the number of volunteers provided. The time commitment on race day will vary based on aid station location.
